BIMI is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Aisha Karimova as Dean of Clinical Sciences, effective 1 February 2026. Dr. Karimova brings 18 years of experience in medical education, clinical research, and healthcare administration to the role, and will lead BIMI's clinical training division through its next phase of development.
About Dr. Karimova
Dr. Karimova holds an MD from the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy and a Doctorate in Medical Education from Semmelweis University, Budapest. Her career spans clinical practice in internal medicine, faculty leadership at two Central Asian medical institutions, and research publications in the fields of clinical competency assessment and simulation-based training outcomes.
Prior to joining BIMI, Dr. Karimova served as Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy for six years, and before that as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the International Medical University of Kazakhstan. She has been a visiting faculty member at institutions in Turkey, Hungary, and India.
Focus Areas
In her role as Dean of Clinical Sciences, Dr. Karimova will oversee:
- Clinical rotation programme design and hospital partnership management
- OSCE and clinical competency examination standards
- Faculty recruitment and development for the clinical sciences division
- Research integration within the clinical curriculum
- Student clinical welfare and supervision standards
